SAFC, in collaboration with the Pasig City Government, has extended financial assistance to Sagip Batampalengke, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping street children in public markets gain access to education, mentorship, and essential resources.

SAFC, in collaboration with the Pasig City Government, has extended financial assistance to Sagip Batampalengke, supporting a community feeding program where children and families receive hot meals in an underserved neighborhood.

Sagip Batampalengke serves hundreds of underprivileged children in Pasig, providing free tutorials, school supplies, food, and values formation programs. Many of these children come from families struggling with financial hardship, as their parents work as market vendors, garbage collectors, or street scavengers. Due to economic difficulties, many of them face child labor, often having to choose between schooling and helping their families make ends meet.

The financial aid from SAFC will allow Sagip Batampalengke to expand its reach, offering more children the support they need to break the cycle of poverty.

“SAFC’s support is a lifeline for many of the children we help,” said Riah Bernardez, Founder of Pasig Sagip Batampalengke. “With their assistance, we can continue our mission of nurturing young minds and providing them with opportunities for a brighter future.”

Recognizing the vital role of community partnerships, SAFC worked closely with Pasig City Councilor Marion Rosalio “Maro” Martires to provide this financial support. Martires emphasized the significance of joint efforts in uplifting marginalized communities.

“The success of Sagip Batampalengke and other programs for underprivileged children depends on strong collaborations,” Martires stated. “SAFC’s contribution highlights how corporate entities can be valuable allies in building a progressive and compassionate city. We hope this partnership inspires more organizations to step forward and support initiatives that make a real difference in people’s lives.”

SAFC President and CEO Kevin John N. Cabanban reaffirmed the company’s commitment to social responsibility, saying, “At SAFC, we believe that financial success is meaningful only when it is shared. This is why we extend our efforts beyond financial services and into the communities we serve. Supporting Sagip Batampalengke aligns with our mission to create brighter tomorrows for Filipino families.”

This initiative is also in line with Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto’s vision of fostering a more inclusive and progressive city. Councilor Martires, a strong advocate for children’s rights and education, further underscored the importance of government-private sector partnerships in advancing social welfare.

SAFC Heroes, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of SAFC, continues to uplift communities through its Love Hero initiative, demonstrating that true corporate success is measured by the lives positively impacted. This effort is further reinforced by the SAFC #Brighter2morrow2gether campaign, which focuses on CSR projects that promote a better and brighter future for Filipino communities.

Through initiatives like this, SAFC and its partners reaffirm their dedication to making a lasting impact—one child at a time.
