PASIG CITY—SAFC (South Asialink Finance Corporation) held its second blood donation drive for the year, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), at its Head Office in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

The drive mobilized SAFC employee volunteers in a meaningful act of service, contributing blood units that are expected to benefit an estimated 80 lives. The initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to employee volunteerism as a pillar of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

The activity followed closely after World Blood Donor Day last June 14, a global observance that highlights the critical role of voluntary donors in saving lives and sustaining healthcare systems.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), voluntary donors account for more than 85% of the global blood supply. However, many countries, including the Philippines, still face challenges in ensuring consistent access to safe blood. Community-driven efforts such as this remain essential in bridging that gap.

For SAFC, this commitment is not seasonal. The company has institutionalized blood donation drives as part of its annual CSR program, holding them every February, June, and October. This reinforces a continued effort to support the national blood supply and build a culture of volunteerism among employees.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to the PRC for its steadfast partnership in this life-saving initiative,” said Jhellie Dela Cruz, SAFC Human Resources Operations Head. “Through the collective generosity of our employee volunteers and the dedication of the PRC, we are proud to contribute to a mission that can make a lasting difference in countless lives.”

Along with its inclusive financial solutions, SAFC continues to champion projects that create meaningful social impact and help build a brighter tomorrow for Filipinos.
