Job Summary
To provide technical support and ensure the stable operation of business networks, including hybrid on-premises and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP). This includes planning, creation, installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication channels.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Installs new/rebuilds existing network equipment and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, firewalls, switches, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
  • Manages and supports hybrid network environments, integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
  • Implements and maintains Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles for internal and external access control
  • Configures and manages SD-WAN and/or Network Access Control (NAC) solutions to secure and optimize network traffic
  • Ensures effective service systems are in place and resources are used effectively to support IT service requirements
  • Provides regular advisory to the IT Supervisor and IT Head on the status of various IT networks
  • Performs routine audits of network equipment and software installed in servers, firewalls, switches, and applies updates, patches, and configuration changes as necessary
  • Performs quarterly backups of network equipment, including firewall and switch configurations, and submits them for safekeeping to the IT Supervisor/Head
  • Coordinates with providers for preventive maintenance of network equipment under contract; maintains and houses all network equipment
  • Manages day-to-day operation and administration of network switches, firewalls, monitoring software, and other network tasks, including address setting, user setups, and security measures
  • Performs technical configuration, installation, and monitoring for LAN, wireless, and IoT network environments
  • Installs and configures new network hardware and server monitoring software
  • Establishes firewall security and documents required network configurations
  • Establishes network-level access control for internal and external users, including VPN and related access
  • Ensures network practices align with applicable compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., Data Privacy Act, industry-specific standards)
  • Provides support on network access issues and troubleshoots reported problems
  • Performs and submits results of network performance tuning and capacity planning semi-annually
  • Communicates networking issues to employees and management, including training new users
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, ECE, or related fields

Work Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in a related field
  • Specialized training in installing, configuring, and managing network equipment such as routers, firewalls, and switches

Certifications

  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) — required
  • Cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Google Cloud Network Engineer) — advantage/plus

Preferred/Advantage Skills

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) — advantage
  • Familiarity with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python scripting) — advantage
  • Knowledgeable in SIEM tools for log analysis, threat detection, and incident correlation — advantage
