JOB SUMMARY:
Audit Deputy Head is responsible for preparing and implementing a risk-based audit approach to evaluate, report on, and make recommendations for improving the Company’s operational activities. He is also responsible for ensuring that operations are in compliance with the policies and procedures of the Company and with the applicable external regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes appropriate policies and procedures to guide the internal audit function
- Establishes risk-based audit plans to set out the priorities of the internal audit function
- Ensures that internal audit resources are appropriate (i.e. professional qualification and skills), sufficient, and effectively deployed to achieve the approved plan
- Provides overall supervision on the audit engagements. Reviews the work performed by the audit staff to ensure that tasks are performed with quality and in a timely manner
- Ensures the timely completion of and reporting on individual internal audit engagements in accordance with professional standards
- Communicates internal audit key performance indicators to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors on a regular basis
- Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the Company’s governance, risk management processes, and internal controls
- Assesses compliance with laws, regulations, authorities, and policies
- Maintains a quality assurance and improvement program that covers all aspects of the internal audit function
- Performs other tasks that maybe assigned by the Audit Committee from time to time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Analytical Skills, Financial Risk Management, and Internal Controls expertise
- Strong background in Finance and Accounting
- Ability to interpret and apply financial regulations
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Professional certification (e.g., CIA) is an advantage
- Must be a certified public accountant
- Prior experience in internal audit is a plus
